2756 English and Myself

2013 年 1 月 15 日 火曜日

Is English a necessary and essential element of the future, or “It’s better than nothing” to me? In this essay, I draw a conclusion about which is right.

English was a tool for reading books in English for me until recently. I love reading a books, and in particular foreign books because books written in English has a unique flavor.

However, this situation has already changed. Business markets are being increasingly globalized. Many companies are relocating their producting bases and branch offices. Not only that, some companies have made English as an internal official language in domestic branches and the head offices. For example, TOEIC scores of at least 700 or 800 are required to get a position at big business. I want to learn in free-and-easy style, but I still have to improve my English skills to the level of mother language through efforts, too.

It’s really annoying.

English and I; My history 2744

I started learning English in the fourth grade at an elementary school. I learned using the correspondence course. I studied listening to CDs and writing English, playing games, speaking. I learned English conversation, which my old sister learned. I enjoyed English. My teacher taught me to learn using quizzes, games and textbooks. I talked with a few foreigners.

When I became a junior high school, studying English became more important. I have the Practical English Proficiency Grade Four. In the fall, I participated in English speech contests. They were my second good memories.

I liked English music, for example, the Beatles, Michel Jackson and Queen and Snow`s songs. My friend liked similar music. My friend often sang songs. I sang “Hey June” at home.

One day, I was asked by a Taiwanese at Kinki Railway Nanba station how to go to JR. We walked there.

On November seventeenth in 2012, I met students from abroad studyings in Kyoto. I sang the song:“Flower (Kinki kids)” with the students from abroad and Japanese classmates.

I want to become better acquainted with peoples from all over the world.
