What Fieldworks Give Students

2011 年 1 月 27 日

I would like to insist that fieldworks are necessary, and fieldwork give many students many influences on various one’s own views.  As a part of fieldwork, we go to workplaces, welfare facilities, and school trips.  And then the views extends in many fields.

In workplaces, they can experience the bitterness and happiness of working.   When students go to workplaces in order to experience work, they will have many troubles.  Then they might realize that working is very hard.  However, they will get to know that working gives a sense of fulfillment by being praised for their working.  By experiencing work, they can realize a sense of value that working is not only hard but also worthwhile before getting a job.  And I hope that they thank their working parents through the experience.

Besides workplaces, they can experience some views. It is welfare facilities such as nursing homes that they will develop their minds of services and kindnesses.  In order to let old people enjoy, they will talk with the old people, sing songs together.  Senior citizens will be pleased with them very much.  As a result, they will experience how wonderful what let people enjoy.  Moreover, their kindness will increase by taking care of senior citizens.  The kindnesses spread not only senior citizens but also various generations.  Probably, the view of people will change greatly.

Also, students can realize the importance for cooperation with classmates during the school trip.  Only on the school trip, can they taste to do something with classmates, for example, eat, go to bed and, get up together.  Such experiences have them learn the importance for getting along with classmates.

Through these experiences, the students can improve themselves, and have nicer senses of value in many fields.  For students, it is important not only to study but also to improve human natures.  Fieldworks are the best way to give them many important things as human beings.

American President and Japanese Prime Minister

2011 年 1 月 27 日

Each country has its own mechanisms of the chief who is elected the leader of its own nation.  For example, American leader is President has some different mechanisms from the Japanese counterpart of Prime minister.  Let me introduce their differences such as qualification for the election, authority, and relation with Congress or the Diet between America and Japan.

The American President is elected every four years.  However, he or she cannot be reelected for two more terms.  An eligibility for the candidate is more than 35 years of age.  In addition, the eligibility for an election is whether the candidate has lived in America for more than 14 years and has a civil right of America.  On the other hand, the Japanese Prime minister is also elected every four years.  However, he or she can be reelected not for only two terms but at any terms.  An eligibility for election is lower than that of America, which is 25 years of age.  He or she must be a citizen and the member of the Diet when he or she is designated as a prime minister.

The boss of the nations has vast authority.  An American President is the chief of the state, who has the State of the Union Message for the federal Congress.  On the other hand, a Japanese Prime minister is the chief of the Cabinet, who nominates councilors as the Minister of State. He or she advises and approves what the Emperor does to affairs of state.

The American President has different relations with the Congress.  The president doesn’t need to have the confidence by the Congress, and doesn’t have the authority to dissolve the Congress.   The Japanese Prime minister has important relations with the Diet, having the authority to dissolve the Diet.

Do you know these differences?  As we study political systems, we find it interesting that each country has different systems.

The Unforgettable Memory of Traveling in Canada

2011 年 1 月 27 日

I went on a tour to Canada for a week this summer.  It was so exciting because Canada was so great for me and all tourists of the tour helped me.

On this trip, I went to the Niagara Falls and Colombia ice field.  Great nature in Canada fascinated me.  When I visited Niagara Falls, unfortunately, it was raining.  I got wet by not only splashes of the Falls but also rain.  I still remember the very impressive scene of Niagara Falls I saw with my body getting wet.  When I visited Colombia ice field, however, it was sunny.  I took pictures of mother’s favorite spots for my mother.  While I was taking pictures, I was moved by the glorious great ice field.

I went on a tour alone there.   I felt nervous about going there alone before leaving Japan.  Thanks to the members of the tour who were very kind and cheerful, however, I did not completely feel alone and really enjoyed the tour.   They spoke to me friendly, took me to shopping, and took many pictures with me.  I felt as if they were my family.  I have been contacting with them since I came home.

I paid so much money for the tour by myself, but visiting Canada was worth a lot of money.  I liked Canada very much and I did not want to leave for Canada.   I want to visit Canada again.  The tour this summer became an unforgettable trip forever.  I really enjoyed the nice summer vacation!

How To Make Friends

2011 年 1 月 27 日

Everybody needs friends.  Nobody can live alone.  So we try to make friends when we are in a new circumstance.  Each of us has many ways to make friends.  For examplesome people are positive and others are negative

If you are a positive personyou can first actively speak to someone with whom you want to become friends By talking about many thingsyou can make friends soon Making friends actively, you can establish friendships and come to know a lot of people But you should remember that what is important in making friends is not the quantity but the quality of friends

If you are a negative personhowever, you tend to wait to be spoken to by someone.  It is not always bad to want and spend a long time to start communicating with someone to become friends with them.  Howeveryou are so passive that you may not be able to make friends as soon as you may wish

These two types of characters give us various ways to make friends.  I can not necessarily say which types are betterbut what is important is a will to make friends

Advantages of Podcasting

2011 年 1 月 27 日

Podcasting is a good means to learn English effectively.   The tool with RSS can tell latest threads, programs and, the like. It has many uses.  I am sure that we the Japanese students can improve abilities to listen to English through Podcasting

Firstlyby downloading data to mobile phones and MP3 playerswe can easily listen to English.  The more we listen to Englishthe more we can improve the ability of listening to English

In addition, thanks to such a tool, we can listen to natural-like English on our own without a native speaker.  We can learn correct pronunciations by using the tool and listening English.

Finally, using such a tool enables us to increase motivations for English if we use the tool daily.  We can enjoy not only listening to English and speaking English but also the English itself.

In shortpodcasting has many good advantages.  If I had known the tool when I was a high school studentI could have made use of them wellWhen I become an English teacherI will introduce Podcasting into classes.

My Dream and My Part-time Work

2011 年 1 月 27 日

I have taken this class as I have a dream to become an English teacher in the future.  I decided to become an English teacher because I like children and English.
In order to practice teaching English,
I am  working part-time at a Juku. I might quit this work and give up becoming a teacher if I could not enjoy teaching at the Juku.  But I have been enjoying communicating with them and teaching English to them since I started working there.
I learned that we teachers can learn a lot from students
. When I work thereI am not always happy and often tired. HoweverI always get cheered up as soon as I see their really lively smiles.
Also, I learned that teaching English is more difficult for me than communicating with young learners
. I must prepare for lessons so that I could help them solve questions Teaching English to many students must be much more difficult for me than teaching English to two students.
In short, working at Juku taught me how challenging and hard teaching is. Through these experiences, I hope to become an English teacher all the more.  I realize that I must study English much more in order to acquire the ability to teach English. I want to improve my English and learn how to write English through this class.

For You Who Take This Class

2011 年 1 月 2 日

Let me introduce what I learned from this class and give you advices that are based on my experienced.

In first term, I learned the bases of how to write English composition, which are how to construct paragraph, how to use conjunction, and techniques to write essays such as processes, and comparisons and so on.  I realized that I could not write composition even if I used the knowledge that I had learned in high school.  So will you.  Accordingly, you should learn to comprehend what Mr. Yasuda teaches and acquire their basic techniques.

After summer vacation, I found it important to write outlines for essays.  By writing them, the essay will be strong and concrete.  I will advise you to write outlines.

In December, I managed to understand what parts of speech are at last.  One word with a meaning in Japanese has a lot of words in English.  In order to express our feelings and opinions in English, it is very important to look proper words up in a dictionary of Contemporary English.  Thanks to it, we can write expressive essays like a native.  You should use not your Japanese-English dictionary but the dictionary he recommends.

Thanks to this class, I learned them and I found English profound.  You should learn to comprehend what Mr. Yasuda teaches.  Go on taking this class how ever hard it is and take him, and you will be able to develop your English.  Never give up!

In The Changing World

2010 年 12 月 31 日

Our world has changed dramatically over many years.  Never did I expect that Chine had developed so, computers had been used widely, and that we could use mobile phones, smart phones such as iPhones and so on, and iPads.  Probably, neither did everybody.  What we students should do in such as time which is unexpected and changing very fast?  I anticipate that these changes influence our occupations in the future: workers in foreign countries, engineers, and even teachers.

If we want to work in foreign countries, we should take it for granted that working in major countries such as America and England is not necessarily important.  As for working abroad, we have been reminded of America and England before.  However, the ideas will be changed.  We will work in developing countries such as China and
India, because we will have chances to succeed more in business than in developed countries.

If we want to work as engineers, in addition, we should produce new tools that replace smart phones and iPads rather than improve what these tools are.  It is because these famous tools might be out of date sometimes.  To anticipate rivals in business, engineers should progress with skills and produce new tools.

It is about teachers that I want to explain.  If we want to become teachers, we should introduce new education into classes.  It is important for teachers in the future to teach students what has concern for the world which is changing, so that they should study the changes of time.  In addition, they should enlighten students as to their future with the knowledge.

Who can imagine how the world will be in ten years on earth?  We cannot perhaps imagine it even in one year.  Pay attention to changes of the world, or you will not keep up with the times.  When we decide what to become in the future, we keep up the changes in mind.
